Things Mortal Men And Churches Cannot Do

2 Peter 1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

Only God has divine power. Mortal men and churches do not.

John 1:11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not. 12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Mortal men or churches do not have the power to make us children of God.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Mortal men or churches do not have the power to make us new creatures. Only our creator can do that.

Psalms 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

Mortal men or churches cannot create clean hearts in us. Only our creator can do that.

Acts 15:8 And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us; 9 And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

Mortal men or churches cannot give us the Holy Ghost or purify our hearts.

John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

No mortal man or church can give us eternal life.

Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Calling on a mortal man or a church does not save.

Mark 11:22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Faith in a mortal man or a church does not save.
